NJAMBI CASTEN
BOARD MEMBER
Njambi was born and raised in Kenya, where her heart for serving others began to take shape at a young age. She later moved to the United States to pursue her master’s degree and eventually became a U.S. citizen. Before relocating, she worked with an international organization in the Daadab refugee camps, supporting individuals and families from Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Uganda. Those years in the camps deeply shaped her understanding of compassion, resilience, and community.
Today, Njambi works in Care Management, walking alongside individuals as they navigate healthcare systems and connect with the community and social resources they need. Her multicultural background and ability to speak five languages fluently (and one at a novice level) allow her to build meaningful relationships with people from many different cultures and experiences.
Her faith is central to who she is. Njambi believes in Jesus as her Lord and Savior and accepted Him in her teens. She often reflects on His goodness, faithfulness, and mercy throughout her life. As she shares:
“It was during my work in the refugee camps that I discovered my passion for helping others, which ultimately shaped my career path. Everything I do flows from my love for Jesus and His love for me. Truly, I don’t know where I would be without Him.”
Njambi finds joy in spending time with her daughter, reading, exploring nature, fellowshipping with others, and traveling.
